Title: Aboo203 – Improving Validator & Staking Analytics Accessibility Description of Issue: Many NEAR users, especially new community members and node operators, struggle to access clear and unified analytics about validators, staking performance, rewar
Description of issue
Many NEAR users and community contributors face difficulties accessing clear and centralized information about validator performance, staking rewards, node status, and ecosystem metrics. Important data is scattered across multiple platforms, making it harder for users to make informed decisions and increasing the learning curve for newcomers. A more unified and user-friendly infrastructure analytics experience would improve transparency, participation, and overall ecosystem growth.
Supporting Evidence
Community members frequently ask for validator performance data, staking rewards, and node status across multiple platforms instead of a single unified dashboard.
New users often require additional guidance before choosing validators because key metrics are fragmented and difficult to compare.
Existing ecosystem data is spread across different tools, creating inefficiencies and increasing the time required to evaluate staking opportunities.
Compared to some other blockchain ecosystems, NEAR lacks a widely adopted all-in-one infrastructure analytics interface that combines validator health, rewards, uptime, and network activity.
Better visibility into infrastructure metrics would improve user confidence, support validator growth, and reduce onboarding friction for new ecosystem participants.
Based on community discussions and personal experience navigating staking and validator-related resources, a centralized analytics solution would significantly improve the user experience.
How This Blocks Your Progress
The lack of a centralized infrastructure analytics solution slows my ability to participate more effectively in the NEAR ecosystem. It takes additional time to gather validator performance data, staking information, and ecosystem metrics from multiple sources before making decisions or creating community content.
This fragmentation makes it harder to onboard new users, educate community members, and promote staking opportunities. It also limits the ability to quickly identify reliable validators and monitor ecosystem activity in a simple and transparent way.
A unified infrastructure dashboard would help reduce research time, improve community engagement, support user education efforts, and create more opportunities for ecosystem growth and participation.
Urgency Level
Potential Solutions
A potential solution is to develop a unified infrastructure analytics platform for the NEAR ecosystem that provides validator performance, staking data, node health, and network metrics in a single dashboard.
Technical Requirements:
Integration with NEAR RPC endpoints and public APIs.
Real-time and historical data indexing.
Public API access for developers and ecosystem tools.
Mobile-friendly and user-friendly interface.
Architectural Considerations:
Modular architecture for easy expansion and maintenance.
Reliable data caching to reduce RPC load.
Scalable backend capable of handling increasing ecosystem activity.
Open-source development to encourage community contributions.
Implementation Approach:
Identify key metrics required by users and validators.
Build data indexing and aggregation services.
Develop APIs for data access.
Create a dashboard with analytics and comparison tools.
Launch community testing and collect feedback for improvements.
Estimated Resources:
1–2 Backend Developers
1 Frontend Developer
Infrastructure hosting and monitoring services
Community testing and documentation support
Solutions Already Available:
Several tools already provide partial analytics and validator information, but the experience remains fragmented across multiple platforms. A unified solution would improve accessibility, transparency, and user onboarding while reducing the effort required to gather important ecosystem data.
Teams/Contributors That Could Help
Several teams and contributors within the NEAR ecosystem could help address this infrastructure need:
NEAR Infrastructure Committee: Well-positioned to coordinate priorities, funding, and technical direction for ecosystem-wide infrastructure improvements.
NEAR Data Platform and Infrastructure Contributors: Experienced in handling blockchain data, indexing, APIs, and analytics services.
Validator Operators: Can provide real-world feedback, performance requirements, and testing support to ensure the solution meets operational needs.
Wallet and Staking Platform Teams (such as Meta Pool and other staking providers): Can contribute insights on user behavior and staking-related analytics requirements.
Community Contributors and Ambassadors (including myself): Can assist with testing, user feedback collection, documentation, and onboarding new users to ensure the platform remains accessible and user-friendly.
A collaborative effort between infrastructure teams, validators, developers, and community members would maximize adoption and ensure the solution addresses real ecosystem needs.
