There is a critical infrastructure and developer onboarding gap in the Egyptian university ecosystem. While NEAR Protocol leads in Web3 AI and User-Owned AI, there is a total lack of structured, high-velocity pipelines to onboard elite cloud developers into NEAR’s JavaScript/TypeScript SDKs on campuses. This causes top-tier technical talent to migrate to alternative high-speed ecosystems like Solana due to the absence of immediate, accessible local infrastructure touchpoints

We are hosting "Vibe Coding Arena 2026" this July—a high-intensity, 7-hour rapid-prototyping hackathon for 45 elite student cloud builders on our campus. Our developer registration and live hacker dashboard are fully operational on Devfolio.

• The Bottleneck: Our students are highly proficient in JS/TS and Python. They are building live AI Agents using Gemini APIs. However, without a dedicated local NEAR infrastructure track and minor prize pool motivation, they will deploy exclusively on centralized cloud setups or competing Web3 chains, creating a missed onboarding opportunity for NEAR.

Without resolving this regional onboarding gap, our 45 elite builders cannot move forward with integrating NEAR's JS/TS SDKs into their AI Agent prototypes during the strict 7-hour hacking window. Features connecting decentralized storage or smart contracts will be omitted, and a massive growth opportunity to seed NEAR infrastructure inside Egypt's top academic builder communities will be completely missed.

Deploying a localized community micro-grant of $500 - $600 to fund a dedicated NEAR track prize pool and co-branded developer t-shirts for the 45 participants. This serves as a minimal-resource, high-velocity experiment to test student onboarding via NEAR’s JS/TS SDKs during an intense live event, acting as a functional node for future ecosystem growth.

The AWS Student Builder Group leadership team at AOU Egypt, led by Hub Manager Marawan Mohamed, in coordination with regional NEAR DEVREL leads or the Infrastructure Committee reviewers to track student deployment metrics post-hackathon.
